Super Bowl Halftime Show Props

The main allure to the Super Bowl to me is the plethora of betting options available. Whatever you can think of regarding the game, and the events surrounding it, there is probably a bet you can make on it. This is unique to the Super Bowl, so it’s a once a year opportunity to bet on some of the wackiest things you’re going to see at a sportsbook.

It's almost time for the Super Bowl which means it's time to take a look at some of the fun prop bets that are available. One of the best Super Bowl 55 prop bets you can target immediately is which song will be sung by The Weeknd first. The famous singer is headlining the 2021 Super Bowl halftime show, and this is probably the best halftime show prop to bet on. Super Bowl 55 is already going to be an exciting game, with the Buccaneers playing at their home stadium for the first time in Super Bowl history, and with the first-ever female Super Bowl referee on the field. Halftime show props join the coin toss, the national anthem length, and color of the Gatorade bath as some of the more popular Super Bowl novelty odds available.

Halftime show betting has become one of the most popular props on the Super Bowl outside of the game. If you don’t know who The Weeknd is, it’s okay, that’s not required to make money off the halftime show. The Weeknd is your Super Bowl LV halftime entertainer in 2021. Despite only 22,000 fans allowed into Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, the NFL is going through with their halftime plans.

While it may not be a packed crowd for The Weeknd, he’s going to get exposure from millions of people watching on TV from around the world. That’s the whole point of taking on the halftime show as a performer. This isn’t a paid gig, so it’s all about exposure to the biggest audience in the world. In other words, it’s a fancy advertisement for The Weeknd without pay.

If you don’t know who he is, he’s one of those performers that you might know when you hear one of his songs. He may not be as popular as Drake, but they’re both from Toronto and have some hit songs. The Weeknd will undoubtedly bring a friend or two on stage to join him. Now, if you can figure out who is going to join him during his performance at halftime, then you can make a lot of money on this. BetOnline currently has six halftime props for the halftime show. More will be added leading up to the Super Bowl.

I treat these Super Bowl prop bets as more fun wagers than anything else. Unless you have the inside loop, then it probably isn’t worth digging deep into the bankroll. Speaking of the inside loop, you’ll find low limits on some of these bets for that reason. The potential of a leak and high limits could wreck a sportsbook. Super Bowl Halftime Show Props

Doja Cat Appear w/ The Weeknd During Halftime Show

The Weeknd has collaborated with some prominent performers over the years. Now, I’m not overly familiar with Doja Cat, but aware that The Weeknd has a well-known song with her. Doja Cat appears in the remix for In Your Eyes. The Weeknd also has a song with Ariana Grande. She is a much bigger name than Doja Cat, but Ariana likely isn’t going to play second fiddle in the halftime show. If she was going to appear as the halftime act, then I believe she’d want to be front and center and not perform in the shadow of The Weeknd. That also goes for Drake.

Yes, you can bet on whether Ariana and Drake will appear in the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show. However, there’s no value on No, and I don’t see Yes coming through. Doja Cat for In Your Eyes, though? It seems like there is a chance of it happening. I’m confident that the NFL will want a female performer to have a minute at halftime. Doja Cat likely wouldn’t pass up the opportunity for some face time with millions watching around the world. Note that In Your Eyes was released in October. It’s a new song that The Weeknd will probably want to push. At +500, Doja Cat appearing at halftime seems like solid value. And here’s a pretty big clue: The Weeknd and Doja Cat share the same manager.

Kenny G Appear w/ The Weeknd During Halftime Show

There are two versions of In Your Eyes by The Weeknd. Doja Cat is featured in one, while Kenny G is feathered in another. However, his soprano saxophone appears in the Doja Cat version as well, so it isn’t like they couldn’t perform together. They are just marketed differently for monetary reasons, with one song The Weeknd feat. Doja Cat and another The Weeknd feat. Kenny G.

If the halftime show producers wanted to put Doja Cat and Kenny G together on the stage at the same time for In Your Eyes, then that’s more than doable. However, if only one of them appears during halftime, then we’re still going to make out with a profit. We’re getting a nice price on both bets that only one is needed for a big payday. It feels like Kenny G is worth a look at +500, too.

This is a pretty simple halftime prop. Which song will The Weeknd perform first out of the gate during the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show? Blinding Lights has been his most popular song over the last year. Not only has it been one of his most popular songs, but overall out of any artist in 2020. Blinding Lights is currently No. 1 on the US iTunes sales chart. It just seems too easy for The Weeknd to open with Blinding Lights. While it’s a big song at the moment, I think one of his other standout songs is more popular over the course of his career.

Starboy is a song that might ring a bell with more people than Blinding Lights. It’s one of those songs that might make more people think, oh okay, I know this guy. I could see The Weeknd saving Blinding Lights for a little later in his performance. I’m going with The Weeknd starting slow, which Starboy is compared to Blinding Lights, and then picking the tempo up from there. Don’t expect him to go through the whole song, but likely long enough of an opener with Starboy to cash to get the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show started.

Even if you don’t already bet on sports, I’m sure that you know that you could if you wanted to.

But what you may not know is that you can also place numerous bets on the Super Bowl halftime show!

Super Bowl 55 is already going to be an exciting game, with the Buccaneers playing at their home stadium for the first time in Super Bowl history, and with the first-ever female Super Bowl referee on the field.

But if you love the halftime show, then you can significantly increase Sunday’s enjoyment by putting money down on some halftime bets.

Here are a few that will be sure to inspire you to register with one of the top Super Bowl betting sites.

The Color of The Weeknd’s Jacket

Super

The Weeknd is a Canadian born singer who gained fame with anonymous YouTube songs. He has worked hard and diligently, never giving up on his quest for a successful musical career.

So naturally, we are going to focus on the color of his jacket!

Seriously, there are odds on whether this performer’s initial halftime appearance will be in a black, red, blue, white, or purple jacket. Black is the odds-on favorite, but purple can win you the most money.

If only we could get inside his head!

Looking at his fashion ensembles over the past several years, we see that he wears a lot of red, some grey, a bit of denim, and a spot of camo. I’ve only seen him in purple once, which is a shame because it is very much his color.

What Song The Weeknd Will Start His Set With

This artist has had a plethora of hits. This is going to be a tough one to call.

Will he start his set with an old favorite?
A new, as-yet-unheard ballad?
A cover?

If you are a Weeknd fan, you can peruse the options at one of the top online sportsbooks. Look at the options, and then go with your gut.

If you don’t know anything about The Weeknd, you can close your eyes and point, or go with the choice that will give you the biggest payout, or simply choose to wager on one of the other Super Bowl prop bets available.

Here are a few non-Weeknd prop bets you can put your money on.

  • The coin toss
  • Which team will score first?
  • Will the first-ever female Super Bowl ref be knocked to the ground during the game?
  • Will the Bucs win by more than 43 points? (Yes! It’s a bet!)

But if you are a fan of all things Weeknd, this bet on how he’ll begin his halftime show is right up your alley. Test yourself on your pop culture/pop music knowledge.

What The Weeknd’s Final Song Will Be

This is essentially the same as the above bet, but you need to keep in mind that artists want to go out with a bang.

Betting on one of the Weeknd’s more popular songs could make sense here.

Props

However, many performers in Super Bowl halftime shows use this opportunity to showcase new music or advertise a new album.

You need to weigh up the options here and decide what you think is most likely.

Will The Weeknd First Appear in Sunglasses?

This is half style choice, half weather commentary. Musicians tend to love sunglasses because everyone in the world looks cooler while wearing them.

But as for the weather, the forecast for Sunday in Tampa Bay is 71℉ with possible thunderstorms!

So, now you need to ask yourself: if you were a rock star, would a thunderstorm keep you from wearing your coolest shades?

The oddsmakers who work for the bookmakers appear to be saying, “He’ll be wearing his shades!”

Will He Perform With a Head Bandage?

Super Bowl Halftime Show Props On Tv

If you follow celeb gossip, you will know that The Weeknd has been raising eyebrows by appearing in public in a head bandage.

No one is sure if it is a publicity stunt, an actual injury, or evidence of plastic surgery that is taking too long to heal. But in the music industry, who knows?

Stranger things have happened than just wearing a mysterious bandage. Remember when Joaquin Phoenix was “checked out” of his Letterman appearance? And when David Lee Roth forgot to wear pants under his cowboy chaps?

So, back to the bandage: If you believe that The Weeknd will ditch the bandage, you are in the majority. If you bet that he’ll appear with it on, and you are correct, you stand to win a solid return on your guess.

A Closing Thought

I cannot wait for Sunday. Yes, the game is going to make history, for many reasons.

But when I spread the wealth among all the best and most interesting prop bets, I’m buying myself an unforgettable day, with a prospect of a jackpot as an added bonus.
